It would be wrong to think that the locals are always high on marijuana. They are busy planning and remodeling a few town houses into various centers of innovative business, they are busy biking around or tasting ethnic food or just relaxing watching life from the sidelines reading newspapers on a sidewalk café.

Amsterdam has its own charm that casts a spell when you see the 1200 odd bridges lighted up over 150 odd canals. The glory of Amsterdam charms you further when it emerges form the mist in the mornings. The days could not more perfect for a visitor when he visits the flower market that floats, Rembrandt Museum, Jewish Historical Museum and the obvious social joints like nightclubs, brown cafes etc.

English is most prevalent language of Amsterdam; it is spoken fluently by a major portion of the populace. The basic attitude of people here is very friendly and carefree, as much that one could chat up a local in course of one beer.

Each province of Netherlands has its own tourist organization strewn around with multi lingual attendants. These Associations for Foreign Travel, as they are called or in short VVV (fay-fay-fay), book accommodations, help making travel arrangements and keeps the visitor abreast with latest programmes.

Seattle, (Washington, USA) is a city that has much to offer young and old alike as a vacation destination. The truly amazing thing about a city like Seattle is that many of the attractions that might appeal to young children, might also appeal to those of an older generation for much the same and very different reasons.

Seattle Aquarium

One of the many attractions that older visitors are sure to enjoy, well, if flowers are there thing, is the Woodland Park Rose Garden. These gardens are free to attend and offer some spectacular blooms if you visit between the months of May and August.

The Seattle Aquarium is another point of interest for young and old alike. Whether you are in your first childhood or your fifth there really is nothing more exciting than watching glorious sea creatures swim above your head. When I was a child, which was something that happened in science fiction, not in real life.

Visit to Seattle Museum

Which brings me to my next timeless attraction: The Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame. This museum explores the history of science fiction and the impact it has had on the world we see today. I love the way imaginations from times long past have sparked some of the inventions of today. As a serious science fiction lover and fanatic, I completely enjoy this museum and could spend days here. But I also have to admit that there are things I see here that belong to my father, and some things that belong to my children. This is why the Science Fiction Museum made my list.

Seattle Museum Of Flight

The Underground Tours are another thing that someone who is more mature might find very interesting. I know that I was completely enthralled not only in the story, but also in the hearing of the story. This was one tour that was well worth the price I paid for it. I would pay the price again if for nothing more than to take another stroll around the museum that requires a tour ticket to gain entrance. Of course, the only exit from this tour is through the gift shop, which really poses no problem. I have will power, really!

The Whale Museum and any of the whale watching tours are another draw worth mentioning. If you have never seen one of these magnificent creatures up close it is an awe-inspiring event and one well worth repeating if you have. Young and old alike, no matter how big you are, it’s amazing how small you can feel next to these great animals.

Time Lapse Images Of Seattle

And of course there is always the Private Eye on Seattle Tour. This tour is not for the faint of heart and yet if you are a fan of old private eye novels or ‘true crime’ then you should find this particular tour to be a great amount of fun. There are three tours available: The Queen Anne Mystery and Murder Tour, the Capital Hill Mystery and Murder Tour, and Haunted Happening-also called the Seattle Ghost Tour. Each of these tours costs $25 per person and lasts between two and a half and three hours.

It doesn’t really matter if you are young or simply young at heart, Seattle has something to wonderful to offer all who visit here. From the gorgeous scenery that only nature could provide to the cultural center that this great city has become, I hope you can find plenty to keep you occupied during your stay.

And the best way to do is to walk the tangled web of streets, squares and alleys.

Zena-such as called by the Genoese- can be enjoyed from the air, particularly from the furnicular of Largo Della, wich arrives to the station Righi, one of the highest points of the city where the Astronomical Observatory and Park Mura are.

From there we can descend on foot for endless stairs to the quaint center of town. Along the way we visit the crypt of the Madonetta, which houses a manger scenes from the medieval Genoa.

A little further down to the elegant district of Castelletto and Castello D’Albertis, which houses the ethnographic museum. In this area we’ll see orange buildings more characteristic of Genoa. Since Casteletto we can take a public elevator that leads directly to Piazza Portello.

The old town center of Genoa, one of the largest in Europe, is an ideal place to get lost, full of twisted, old alleys marked with the passing of the centuries. Here you will find, in addition to all kinds of shops, plenty of nice fonts, such as the Piazza delle Erbe, meeting point of intellectuals and students, many churches and Romanesque-Gothic Cathedral of San Lorenzo, within which is the Sacro Catino, who many consider the true Holy Grail. The Mateotti and Ferrrari squares leads to the recent and renaissanee Genoa, respectively. In the square Mateotti is the Palazzo Ducale, the scene of most events and cultural performances. Carola and Garibaldi streets contain a wealth of cultural heritage, full of palaces and museums. Balbi Street also worth visiting, with the Palazzo Reale, residence of the Savoy.

The buildings of the city, usually six or seven floors and beautiful marble patios, stand tilted back to the sea, which protected them from bad weather and disasters of all kinds.

The Port of Genoa, industrial and passenger, is the largest in Italy and one of the main destinations for cruise ships that ply the Mediterranean. In it we find places of entertainment, shopping, the lighthouse (or Lantern, as it is known there), and the largest aquarium in Europe.

To move through Genoa, it is recommendable to purchase the Museum Card that allows free access to all museums and free use of the Metro and buses.
